prof. pagiatakis简介 spiros pagiatakis is an associate professor and director of geomatics engineering at york university in toronto. he holds a phd in geodesy/geodynamics from the university of new brunswick, canada. his research interests are in the dynamics of the earth, both in global and regional/local scales, as observed by geodetic techniques. on-going research includes the determination of the glacial isostatic adjustment from terrestrial gravity observations in canada and grace gravity mission level-2 data. his research interests also expand in the area of physical geodesy, and in particular in the determination of the geoid (local and global scales) and of the sea surface topography. other research activities include the study of the response of the earth to ocean tide loading, spectral methods and their application to the analyses of superconducting gravimeter (gwr), very long baseline interferometry (vlbi) and gps time series. these research projects are financially supported by the natural sciences and engineering research council of canada, the canadian foundation for innovation, the ontario innovation trust, the geoide national centre of excellence and york university. prof. pagiatakis holds a number of prominent positions both nationally and internationally. among others, he is currently the vp of the canadian geophysical union, vp of the iag subcommission 3.1 (earth tides), editorial member of the international journal of oceans and oceanography, and member of two iag special study
